The Pre-Qingming Longjing tea is a premium tea that is harvested before Qingming Festival (April 5th), making it even more rare and valuable. Its roast chestnut aroma and fresh, grassy flavor are a testament to its quality and authenticity. But what sets this tea apart is its unique aftertaste - sweet and refreshing. This is due to a traditional technique called "Hui Gan" (回甘) that enhances the natural sweetness of the tea.

How to serve

To serve, take 2-3g (1-2 teaspoons) and brew with 250ml boiling water. Let it infuse for 30 seconds to 1 min.

Gongfu style (Gaiwan)
6g | per 100ml | 95°C | 1 min
+ 10s per steep for at least 5 steeps

Western style (Teapot)
3g | per 100ml | 90°C | 3 mins
+ 1 min per steep for at least 3 steeps

Cold brew

What is Pre-Qingming Long Jing?

Pre-Qingming Long Jing refers to the top-grade Long Jing green tea harvested before the Qingming Festival, typically in early April. This early harvest ensures the leaves are tender, packed with nutrients, and deliver a sweeter, more delicate flavor compared to later harvests. Known as “Dragon Well” tea, Long Jing is one of China’s most famous green teas, prized for its flat, smooth leaves and distinctive fragrant aroma. Pre-Qingming batches are especially coveted for their superior freshness and limited availability.
